Hi DeeDee,

I don’t know the answer to that but I do know that another reader very recently got a walk-in backcountry permit one day before starting a backpacking trip, so it may also be the case with the Angels Landing day-before permit that there’s less demand than there is for the advance reservation. Anyone know how hard it is to get the day-before lottery permit? I haven’t heard many people online complaining about not being able to get it.

Hiked Angel’s Landing a few years ago. I had summited Longs Peak and was more nervous at Angels Landing but I got some great photos and loved it. One just needs to be cautious and remember Mother Nature always is in control.
