Thanks Michael, great ideas! I just finished the Timberline Trail and it’s as nice as you say (except for being very crowded, and very smoky on my last day).

I’ve been to most of the places mentioned here and they are indeed awesome. I just got back from backpacking in the Snowy Range of the Medicine Bow Mountains and they are every bit as beautiful and spectacular, although the whole range is quite compact. The Snowy Range is an absolutely incredible piece of real estate.
