Hi Saar,

We did not need any via ferrata gear on any sections of the Alta Via 2 that we hiked from Erbe Pass to the Refugio Rosetta and the small town of San Martino di Castrozza. As you can see in the photos in this story, some sections of the trail are quite exposed but not difficult; even our young kids (our youngest was 11) had no trouble simply holding onto the chains that were in place in some spots and walking the narrow path.
