Although I live in Florida, my annual trips and sometimes two per year are my most cherished memories of all my hiking trips. Charged by a bighorn sheep which was 300 yards away at his starting point and dive bombed by a golden eagle both at Shangri-la above Iceberg Lake are etched in my brain.

Absolutely fantastic. I will be worthless; ‘DAY DREAMIN’. Glad to see the content about positive interactions with the Grizzly Bears. It is good to know that the rangers are monitoring their locations and actually closing trails. Cool. Keeps my fear level down to a respectable level and helps good sense based on research from experienced hikers rise to the occasion. With regards to climate change; I wish I had an encouraging word. The polar vortices will become the norm as the planet tries to cool down from the elevated CO2 levels. Humans in turn will burn more wood and fossil fuel to survive. How can we possibly circumvent this? The thing we all fear and dread the most may be our only way out of this disaster: nuclear power with all its destructive waste and no real storage and containment solutions. GOD help us.
